I had to give up on this one. It wasn't BAD per se, but the I have so many other books I'd rather read than this. The dialogue was stiff, and not very natural for genius teens taking college courses during the summer. The writing was also very simplistic and juvenile. I gave up.

Another great adventure with some really awesome characters. I must say, I really really love Stephanie and Skullduggery! These books are simply the best. Yes, this one is a bit more serious than the first book, but it's still a fun read. Descriptions can be a little gory, but other than that, it's a good teen pick.

Well, it was cute, but not nearly as good as many of Raina's other comics. This one is a simple story about a road trip trapped in the car with her sister and brother and mother, with flashbacks to growing up together. It felt rushed with not much depth as Smile, or at least not as much detail or nostalgia put into it.

A fun book that went differently than I expected. This book spans an entire lifetime of friendship between a man and his murderous, monstrous friend, but you can't help but like the two characters. Like Seymour and Audrey II, if Audrey was a bit more lovable and not intent on taking over the world.

I was dubious at first, I thought the book was being too artsy and inner monologue-y, but thankfully I stuck with it, and it turned out to be a fun read! You get thrown into the book with the first sentence when Ig wakes up to find horns on his head, but then it starts to get weird without much direction. Then the plot takes hold and it's a much more fun read from there!

A very, very cute book that I would recommend to anyone ages 9 and up! It's a translated work, and reminded me a lot of Inkheart in its feel and wording. Not quite as dark as Funke's series, but it still has some depth to its message. The beginning felt a lot more childish than the rest of the story, but that may just be because our elf protagonist, Yorsh, is still just a youngling ("a pup, one recently born"). Anyway, a wonderful tale about the last elf, the last dragon, and how keeping positive, having faith, and hopeful can make its own magic.

Sorry Lady Trent, I just am not in the mood for your roundabout, Victorian prattle in a book that reads more like a non-fiction than a fiction.

So much going on! It seems pretty hopeless in Connor and Risa's plight to end unwinding, but we'll have to wait and see in book 4! I still really love this series, even if I think it could have been a stand alone with just book 1. Oh well, lots of suspense!
