Bit of a slow start to this one but once it gets going it's a really fun ride! The dinosaurs in this book feel very real and very frightening.

Too many other things I'm enjoying more right now. This feels really unfocused in comparison to its predecessor. May revisit.

Eli Valley's cartoons are vital for any Jew who is concerned by the corruption of American Jewish institutions and hopes for a renewal of the old social activist Yiddishkeit.

This is the first BL manga I've read. I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected! The art conveys movement and emotion very effectively. They're also a very cute couple.

While working as a page at my hometown library in high school, I remember saying to the library director "I love comedy movies, why doesn't anyone write funny books?" She immediately handed me this book and said "Of course they do, read this."

This book has stuck with me for a long time since. Long overdue for a re-read!

This was my first foray into "big history" and I was thoroughly impressed. The monumental scope of this book - covering not just the Burgundian dukes but also keeping track of changes in art, technology, and economics - makes for an immersive and enchanting experience.

Really interesting not-too-long, not-too-short book about the environmental risks of phosphorus use and potential solutions to rebalance everything. Hit close to home after living on the shore of Lake Erie for a good chunk of my 20s. Left me hoping for a better, cleaner future.

The (amateur, non-credentialed) translator is one of those "classical liberal" ghouls and it shows in his commentary and translation choices. Looked up his bio and was just really disgusted, can't get it out of my head. Will hold onto this as a reference for any future Cthulhu Dark Ages games I run but I don't really want to read any more of this right now. I do find this topic interesting, though - will definitely be on the lookout for books on the topic from a more reputable source.
