A plot that is set up well but an ending that is overly convoluted. There are three big reveals but it bring too many people into the mix and one is on a scale so big that it makes no sense.

This was such a fun read. A middle school horror that sets a creepy atmosphere without being too terrifying for younger readers. The characters are fleshed out and all different enough that there is something relatable for everyone. A great set up for a sequel (or series?)

This book was an interesting read but at some times it was rather repetitive. That seemed to be a result of the repetitive events that took place more than the writing, but it did lend the book to become dull at some points. Overall, it was extremely interesting. The rise and fall of Theranos (which is still happening in multiple courts in multiple states at this time) was an unbelievable ride. The young owner managed to scam and mislead people to a multi-billion dollar company which produced no legitimate results whatsoever. Seeing how she managed to mislead and charm people with decades of experience in multiple fields while having none of her own, was astounding.

I enjoy this premise of kids and teens have to do the job because they are sensitive to the phenomena. I think my only issue is the dialogue is written like everyone is an adult. There is nothing that shows the teenagers are teenagers. But overall it is still an enjoyable story that combines some horror, thriller, and crime procedural elements.
