The humor in this books hits just right and I adore Davi. Can’t wait for book two! Wexler is one of my auto buy authors.

Satisfying conclusion to a good trilogy. I love a library story and I really liked Liviria, though I have conflicting feelings about the ending.

I really enjoy UF and I really wanted to like this. However, it was a lot of tell not show, very repetitive, lots of info dumping for such a short book, I really didn’t care much about John Taylor because we never got to know him very well, and I was confused at the end how he was super weak right and then the house thing shut off his gift but then he could suddenly access his gift at full power. Also, I’d love to know the number of times the author said …in the Nightside. I feel like it was at lease once a page. I can see some potential so I wish I knew if the story was worth persevering through the series.

So I enjoyed the half of the book when it was from Lindon or Yerin but was not as interested in the side character POVs. By the end of the book though, I wanted to keep reading. I’ve heard the series picks up after this and so I am looking forward to the next books.

Reading Pratchett feels so cozy and I heartily support his POV. I have always been fascinated by the post office so this one was especially fun.

I read this once before and then didn’t continue with the series but I’ve heard so many good things about this series that I decided to reread this one and will continue with the next book. I appreciate that Linden is clever and that preparation is his strength, and he is working hard to get stronger but I really like Yerin and am excited to learn more about her.

Read this for a bookclub.
This rating is tough. I liked the historical fiction aspect of this book, the naval adventure and the peek into indigenous culture.
I did not enjoy the horror elements of this book, I would have appreciated a historical context note at the end and the book was just too long. At times, I felt like I was slogging though the book like the characters were slogging through the ice. I also did not appreciate (though probably historically accurate) the rampant racism and sexism prevalent.
I was however pleasantly surprised that there was a relatively satisfying ending.

Just enjoying binging the series so much. I’m so sad that I only have one more book until I have to wait for the next one to be published. The audiobook is just so much fun.

Solid book, though it suffered a bit because I just read the first Suneater book and it felt similar. The religious focus for the plot is also not my favorite. Interested to read further though I will be disappointed if he remains in captivity at the end of the next book.
