It has good principles and j learned a view things but if you have any interest in personal finance or a finance background this stuff is no brained.
Least favorite Brené book by far as referenced numerous times in other reviews. I think I also read this to soon after reading Pema Chödrön who was much more impactful for me.
Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead
Something tells me I will revisit this book yearly. So many good quotes and good reminders. I starting out reading the gifts of imperfections and this was the next step. It was nothing short of revolutionary. I grew up in a perfectionist household and despite a great career, friends, and money in the bank, I didn't feel great. This book single handedly helped me change and open my heart smartly while creating boundaries. If you enjoyed Brene's TED talk, read this. The audiobook is narrated by her which I really enjoyed too.
3.5 stars really liked this book. I took away a star, due to the fact that there was no chapter or really any mention of fearful avoidant/ disorganized/anxious avoidant attachment style. While there was a chapter on the anxious/avoidant trap between 2 partners this didn’t really help anyone who experienced this all within themselves.
However, since this concerns a small proportion of the population, I think it’s a very good and useful book overall and I learned a lot. I would recommend to anyone who wants to be a better communicator and has struggled in the past with either anxiety about intimacy or tends to shut down at the first sign of closeness.
