The action jumps right in from the first page, as Adalina is kidnapped from her 21st birthday party.  I was hooked from the start and devoured it in one sitting.  It was a well-written dark romance full of revenge, chaos, and violence.  It gave me everything I wanted out of a dark mafia romance and left me wanting more.  Dante and Adalina have instant chemistry that only builds throughout.  My only complaint is the third act "conflict" felt out of line with the character development in the rest of the book.  Excited to read more in this universe!

This one had a bit of a slow start, but it really picked up once the story got going. Maeve Hazel has done a fantastic job of creating two lovable, but deeply flawed characters. They both bring their own grief and baggage to the relationship but also bring out the best in one another. One of the highlights of the book for me was the friendship between Merielle and Haelyn. This was my first book by Hazel and I'm definitely going to be reading some more.

I’m not sure where I found this book, but I’m so glad I did! This was my first book by Naomi Loud and definitely won’t be my last. I had a hard time putting it down. I fell in love with James and Ozzy and this story felt both fresh and relatable, with lots of good spice. It’s listed as a dark contemporary romance and while both characters have dark aspects to their stories, the book as a whole didn’t feel dark to me. The icing on the cake was the recipes at the end of the book. Can’t wait to check out more from Naomi!
