I'm so sad it's over!! (I know there are spin offs, but I need to know more about the couples in this book dang it! Lol!)

Okay so starting off - Tella seriously needs some better slippers, I swear I've never read a book with more shoes having issues than hers LOL!
This series was perfection - everytime I thought I knew where the twist was going it took another turn! This book was fun, heartbreaking, dramatic, thrilling and everything I never realized it was before picking up book one. ❤️

I enjoyed the twists of this one and the new charecters with flashes of the OGs we all love! The only thing holding me back from a 5 is I thought some of the story seemed like some things worked out a little too perfectly, I was also confused because tiktok very much made it seem like a certain couple was going to get together and it wasn't so much.

Now you might be asking "Shannon.. your giving a book that just ripped out your heart, threw it on the ground and stomped three times 5 stars?!" And yes, yes I am lol.

So at first book two took me some time to get into (it could be because book 3 isn't out just yet but you betcha I've got it pre-ordered!) This just seemed slow and honestly I thought if I saw "The ballad of the fox and the archer" mentioned one more time I was going to actually go insane!

I am torn lol.. like I love Zade but dang he has some moments that really made me mad with how he treated Addie. :( And then I would look at some fan art of him, and then I would remember I need to call my therapist LOL!

-Plot: 7/10 It was good but some things felt odd, but the majority of the plot was well done

-Spice: 8/10 Don't get me wrong this is SPICY the last quarter of the book, but some of the spice just wasn't my kind, and thats okay!! I will just picture a Zade that cuddles now and then! :D

-Overall: 8.6/10 This book was good, again bringing light to a situation that many of us are blessed to be blissfully unaware of, but it broke my heart for those who ever had to experience something so dark, on that note - this book is HEAVYYYY please be aware of this before reading and please read the TW's <3

The sadness I feel that the story is completed, I still have question lol, I didn't think this series could top Caraval series but it really did. It made me almost think of Shrek 2 when reading it where Caraval felt like Alice in Wonderland it was a nice change up of pace while also feeling like it kept that magical feel ✨️ if this is on your TBR here is your sign to read it! (If you haven't read the Caraval series I highly recommend reading it first, it will be more enjoyable)

I was kind of mad with the MFC - she was just so stubborn it hurt lol.
It was probably mid book that I started to get really into it, but Ali always has some of the funniest witty banter! And honestly she got me thinking more about Chess (I am an unashamed checkers fan LOL!)
I do recommend this book, it is nicely written and one you can feel close to the characters. It hit really close to home for me when it talks about friendships.
