A lovely kid-sized biography of Shirley Chisholm. I really loved that there was an action word highlighted on each page!
A delightful collection of poetry for kids! Not the traditional picture book I was expecting, but a lovely surprise. Short poems about lots of different aspects of girlhood: from bullies to hair to wanting to be big.
This one has more words and pages than the typical children's book, but it tells such an important story of a civil rights icon.
This book is a must-have for every black boy everywhere. It's part book of affirmations, part book of aspirations. And the illustrations leave room for imagining yourself as each possibility given on the pages.
This is an important read, as Kaitlin writes about embracing her identity as Indigenous American and Christian, and what that truly means. I wanted to like it much more than I did, but I found her writing style to be a bit repetitive. Still a must read though.
I liked the premise of this story, but it felt incomplete, like I was missing a few pages (I even checked to be sure I didn't skip anything.) It might be a good starting point for a talk with a child about moving though.
A delightful kid-sized biography of the beloved Mr Rogers, which introduces this icon to a new generation.

This book is first of all GORGEOUS. The illustrations are brilliantly colored and gives a rich sense of the vibrancy of the market. Also a good way for kids to learn about markets and what you might find in them. And there's educational material in the back!
