This was absolutely delightful! I love Flavia. She's so smart, and hilarious but also utterly believable as being a pre-teen. Also, this what an excellent story. Well-paced, well-told, and beautifully intricate.
Fast-paced, and I really liked that it didn't feel too long or too short. Barry got me enough into the story that I spent the last hundred pages chanting "c'mon Ally!" I also really loved how much Maggie, the mom was an active part of the story (as an older character).
A lovely collection of essays on the readerly life. If you consider being a reader as a central part of your personality, these essays will make you think about your own reading life as Anne writes about hers.
Extremely well-written and detailed in its approach, and so, so interesting.
Interesting. Made me think a lot about the western desire to know everything.
