I adored this book! It’s so cute, angsty and spicy! Please though read trigger warnings because there’s a lot of triggering subjects in it that had me in tears.
It’s not a 5 because I wanted more pettiness (not going into it to avoid spoilers) which is totally a me thing and nothing to do with the masterpiece this book is or how incredible Sara Cate is at telling stories. Amazing book!

Graphic: Homophobia, Suicide attempt
Moderate: Child abuse, Sexual assault
Still my favorite Shadowhunter book even if it HURTS.
I love that we get more Kit and faerie, but I especially like that we get more appreciation for Julian, both for how amazing and self sacrificing he’s been in the name of love for his family, but also for his clever genius mind.

This return to dark romance was truly a return to dark romance!!! Vuk is mysterious and DANGEROUS, but he’s also such a softie and I loved that juxtaposition in his character. Ayana was such a nice and badass FMC and I love that the most beautiful girl in the anaverse is a dark skinned black woman with Ethiopian roots.
There was angst, so much pining, action, spicy scenes and so many cameos! It was a lot of fun.

The world building was amazing, the magic system was really cool, the characters were funny and lovable for the most part and I was bamboozled which is not easy so it gets extra points for that
