The pacing was just painful. These characters went from not knowing each other / only hearing the worse about the other, to completely gone in a matter of a chapter, all while she’s still looking for her ex boyfriends to see what went wrong with them (which was already a silly premise but I’m fine with that if it’s fun and well developed).
The way the characters thought about the other when there was literally no development between them for those thoughts to surface was just not it and I know I won’t like this book if I finish it so why bother

This was just too cringy, and the characrr the es went from having depth and a reason to act that way to completely act in a different test the next second. I’m not sure if the author HAD to keep the word limit but this book was too short and could have benefit from more time to explore the dynamic.
Also I listen to a ton of audiobooks so it’s hard for me to get annoyed at a narrator, but the voice the male narrator was doing for the FMC made it even harder to like her and take her seriously, which is not the authors fault but…

Officially DNFing after putting it down since June 2024 and only being forced to pick it up because my book club chose it.
It’s not a BAD book but I was honestly not interested in anything happening and I could not tell you each characters personality because it just blends.
I also don’t care for Shakespeare so all the Shakespearean stuff bored me to death.
I did enjoy the fae aspect and when we got to see faes in action my attention was completely on the book, but it was sadly not enough.

I’m going to DNF… I’ve read this far and I’m still so bored and uninterested… I really wanted to love it but alas…
First DNF of the year but I can’t keep doing this. At 70% I dislike the characters and the story is awful. This is a disney channel original movie but instead of the characters being 14 and starting high school, these are grown adults behaving in the most ridiculous ways.
The plot is laughable, the characters are bland and I honestly can’t waste more time on it.

At 150 pages I didn't feel any connection to the characters, I found them bland and lacking chemistry and the plot although interesting it wasn't enough to pull me in.
