- tbh this was okay and i initially rated it 3.5/5 but the more i thought about what i didnt like i decided to give it an even 3
- i liked both stella and michael's characters (mostly) but there were a few scenes that didn't sit right with me and felt very.......territorial? like aggressively so
- their romance felt a little too sex based for my liking and i wish there was more little moments delved into that gave more insight to their emotional relationship
- the third act conflict was resolved too quickly and easily and felt like the author giving them the easy way out
- im still glad i read this and im excited to read the bride test soon!

7/15/21: i really enjoyed this the second time around i just feel like there should've been more scenes between the main characters that didn't revolve around their conflicts or the build up to them like the little moments that are breezed past

3.5/5: unlike most people i really really liked the beginning and middle but the last 20% got too confusing and felt a little all over the place but i still enjoyed it

4.5/5: im going to be honest idk how to rate this but i really really liked it even if there were parts i didn't understand (the magical realism elements) and the writing was so beautiful i think everyone should read this (tws for islamophobia, (off page) hate crimes, attempted kidnapping, gun violence)

- i liked it but to be honest i didn't really care about radha and jai's romance like i liked that they helped each other grow and overcome their own issues but the actual romance just didn't do it for me
- i also feel like there was no build up to them getting together and i think there could have been more moments about their feelings for each other and how they fall in love rather than just being told that's how they feel
- liked radha's anxiety rep and jai's family story surrounding stroke survivors
- books about cooking always have my heart <3

such a slow start but when i finally got 30% through i finished it in less than a day and WOW i was not expecting that ending

- i loved you should see me in a crown which is pretty much the only reason i read this because the plot itself was not really my thing
- tired of characters knowing each other for a day saying they're in love
- romances that happen over a very short span of time without the mc's already knowing each other never works for me in general
- excited to see what leah johnson comes out with next!
