3.5 stars for me…
I am a Shari Lapena fan. Since book one, so it’s with confidence that I can say this one missed the mark for me.
Was it the ‘who done it’ style I am accustomed to reading from her? YES
However, the back and forth between all of the characters stories seemed more like watching a tennis match than a ballet.
Characters like Lisa & Ted although spouses to the main characters, felt like 4th string fillers that just needed to take up space. Along with the aunt & the house keeper.
The red hearing of this book also felt forced. Which made figuring it out happen much sooner than I expected or wanted. Finishing was more of a I knew it than my usually OH MY GOSH NO WAY plot twist I’ve grown to love from Shari Lapena.
