Seventeen-year-old Fallon Bane was born with a curse: a single touch from another person will always cause her excruciating pain. Until she meet Ariyon who for some reasons doesnt cause her pain when touching her...
I have positive things to say but also negative things, but because of these negative things i enjoyed it😂🤦🏼♀️
The book is cringe, juvenile, written like 2nd grade level. But because of all that i kind of liked it too!? I really love the plot! Its different from most books i have read recently and it read through pretty quick!
For someone who wants to start into fantasy this would be a very nice read! Especially if english isn't your first language this would be nice!
The book is very rushed, it would have been nice to have more details in this book! The enemies to lovers trope has been tried but mind you this is not your average good enemies to lovers slow burn😅
But, i honestly do love Ariyon, you can say what you want. I love that man😂 am i reading book 2 right now because the cliffhanger of the first book got me screaming? Yes, yes i am! Because even though this book is cringy and not the greatest writing style im still curious to the end of the series and want to know what happens between Ariyon and Fallon. Maybe it gets better in the coming 2 books!
Overal its an alright book. Would i reread it? I might if i need a quick paced book to get me out of my reading slump

Plot or Character Driven:
Character
Loveable characters:
Yes
Diverse cast of characters:
Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus:
No
Its been a while since i have read such a great adorable gay graphic novel that has has the some adorableness as Heartstopper but here it is! If you are a Heartstopper fan, but you also love fantasy then this is for you!
The cast is a diversity from the LGBTQ+ community with even two reps of aroace (and as an aroace myself i screamed when i saw it, because lets be honest there is so little aroace reps!😩) the graphics are absolutely amazing and so well done! The story was easy to follow and even though there is not much romance yet i love the cute shy insecure beginning stages of it.
You get to see both the friendgroups gossip and what i love is that we do not just the romance from the main characters but also from a side character! And lets be honest i really really love it when side characters get their love stories too! I love seeing stories from others too and not just the main characters especially graphic novels!
The world building is like the human world but then a bit different and more the monsters and magic world! You get a bit of information on that too and i cant wait to see if we get to know more about that monsters and magic world!
Overal im absolutely obsessed with this graphic novel and i so cant wait to read more and to see where their story will go to🫶🏻

‼️THIS REVIEW HAS SLIGHT SPOILERS AT THE END, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK THANK YOU‼️ *bows*
First of all, Rebecca you have done this one better then Iron Flame and i love you for it! Iron Flame was a bit of a disappointment but this book has gotten so so much better!
Yes we did get to see more of the relationship of Violet and Xaden but i wasn't irritated with it this time! This time i was actually hoping for their part together to come! I liked it how we also got to read more about Ridoc and his dragon, Ridoc is absolutely after Liam one of my favourite characters and it just makes me laugh to know that Ridoc and his dragon have a prank war going on! I also love how the friendship between him and Violet is getting seen more but that also kinda makes me scared for book 4 Ridoc because of the thing Rebecca said in an interview about book 4😬
World building, we got to read about more grounds like the Isles! It was exciting to me that we got to explore more wider in this world and to read about other rulers and their ruthelessness. If you thought Basgiath was ruthless, wait till you read about the Isle rulers!
What i also really liked was the kind of sort of bonding between Violet and Sgaeyl! Girl i see you, you are warming up to our Vi😂 i enjoyed Andarna a lot too and that we get to read more about her and her history but i'm still confused on her ending of this book!
But the full end!? What the hell was that ending!? I'm still very confused on this whole end! I have so many theories on Andarna and on Violet and Xaden!? Even got some theories for Imogen! Still not cool that so many awesome characters were killed just like that!? I have been crying a lot more this book then i did with Liam in Fourth Wing! Also laughed about some that were offed though like the ones with the big cats, if you know you know😂
ALSO REBECCA WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE ADORABLE BROCOLI!? WILL BROCOLI BE IN BOOK 4!? i have an idea for the cat, what if the cat grows on Andarna and thats the one thing andarna wont eat!? Hm, small idea? Would be adorable. If you wont i will make a dang fanfiction out of it or a small graphic novel about how Brocoli is the one thing Andarna won't eat and how Andarna will protect that small adorable cat with her life

This was such an addictive book to read! Fantasy, dark romance and a murder mystery all in one.
A main character who hates death at first but she slowly finds out what his actual role is in the spirit world and what her own role is. While she is finding out her own role in life and death she has to solve a murder mystery.
This book has been filled with twists and turns and had me guessing and guessing wrong at who had been the murderer. Honestly i was very surprised with who it was in the end the whole book was very exciting with the many plot twists. It wasn't too many of them but also not too little of them.
The world building is set in the late 1800's and if you love to watch/read Bridgeton you will be delighted to know that there is a lot of the Bridgeton style written into this book! In my opinion i really loved how this was set in the late 1800's, and that it was a Bridgeton style of time. It made the story fun and different from other books i have read as it has a spark of dark romance/fantasy!
Overall i am very excited to read the next book and to solve the next murder!
