Wow okay I'm really happy I gave this a reread when I felt more into a western. I liked all the cast and it really does circle around a lot of topics like gender roles, sexual orientation and race from a personal perspective as well as societal.

an absolutely amazing start to a new series. I am officially addicted to this author now and her entire world. I cannot wait for the next book in the series and to finally see more hell break loose

This started out okay but I really dislikes all the characters. I appreciate having different economic classes and LGBTQ representations from them but they were all just on my last nerve by the end. Because of how much I didn't like the entire cast, it was rather difficult to be even remotely interested in their stories.

could Tor stop trying to take all my money? For like just one day? That'd be great.

Well it appears TOR heard me because WTF is that cover?

Well...wasn't everything I was hoping for. I found myself pretty bored for the last half of the book.

I think this was my second favourite of the series (and probably the least emotionally damaging series ending Jay Kristoff has given me). I think I struggled with pacing predominately but I think the plots itself was tied up quite well. I do think I'll try and binge reread the series back to back to back.

3.5/5

This didn't grab me the way Crazy Rich Asians did and I'll admit that I was struggling to find the plot for the first first of the book but I really did end up enjoying it in the end.
