I am actually going to burndown GoodReads. STOP DELETING MY REVIEWSSSSSS

I been shook to my core! HOLY BALLS! This was better than Snow Like Ashes and I LOVE Snow Like Ashes!

I super need to get my shit together and read the sequel but that would require me to be a responsible human.

Rep: m/m romance

See if zodiac signs were like this...I could get into it. This was a fun and creative concept with a lot of twists and turns and my all-time favourite trope: lineage reveal! It's also hella pretty in person.

Or this ending broke and warmed my heart. It's like a mg condensed Caracal setting but more focused on the relationship between the Mc and his wonderful grandpa

This was so much freaking fun!

BOYYYYYYYY this is an impressive first read from an author. It's so polished and used its time so effectively to develop the characters and plot. There's actual dialogue and a point to everything in here! I was shocked to see this wasn't a seasoned author with dozens of publications. I will absolutely be following this author and anything else that comes out in this series.

This took on way more than I was expecting. I knew we would get (and we did get it) a murder mystery set in Korea but what I did not expect was the persecution of Catholics and other Western ideologies to be such a main issue. I knew that the conflict between East and West cultures has always been a battle but I have never seen it highlighted in a YA book before so that was incredibly unique and memorable.

The characters' lives are so messy and entangled to an extent many of them don't even know. There was no way for me to easily guess who the murderer was when I was simultaneously trying to figure out who the orphaned son is, is the orphaned son the popo guy, is the popo guy the mc brother?

It wasn't particularly fun to read about women being told by their families and cultures that they should kill themselves if they do not follow the path society has set for them. I honestly really appreciated the honesty of a lot of elements in this whole book.

Rep: Canadian-Korean author with a book set in Korea with Korean characters

RTC but OMG!

3.75/5

This was more romance than action which isn't what I was expecting or TOTALLY wanting (which caused my brain to drift off a few times) but I actually enjoyed this. The main character and the romantic interest were definitely likable characters and I enjoyed their backstories.
