Omg I loved this book. Strong women fighting to get recognized for their exceptional abilities while adventuring and saving dragon creatures is BASICALLY my kryptonite. It's got the same great witty tone as the first book and Felicity's character is consistent but just more fleshed out. Absolutely adored the cast and all the adventuring and badassing they did!
Roshani's writing lends itself so well to fantasies and retellings. It's just so beautiful and whimsical. The writing, tone and style are quite reminiscent of A Star-touched Queen so even though it was a companion novel, it still kinda felt like a sequel. The ending was so sweet and reminded me so much of those endings to cheesy romcoms!
God this book is so precious. You just can't help but feel for Morrigan. The world is so cool and I FREAKING LOVED the inclusion of the school element. More and more Harry Potter vibes. I'm such trash for this series. I wanna visit a hotel like this--NO I WANT TO LIVE IN A HOTEL LIKE THIS.
Im honestly pretty underwhelmed and disappointed. This book simply fell flat. The plot was pretty basic, underdeveloped and rushed through. I'm not sure why the author brought in William Shakespeare because he wasn't particularly well used. The romance was simply basic and Tobby+Kit had no chemistry. I did love that there was bi rep though! The premise had promise but really poorly executed. The writing was also very info dumpy or very "I'm going to tell you what you need to know rather than have the characters show you."

HOLY HELL THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING! As I guessed I would, I freaking loved the writing of this book! It's not the same romantic fairytale feel that The Star-touched Queen gave me but still very Chokshi's writing. Chokshi has this insane ability to write such such flow and beauty that it gives me chills.
The characters, world and plot were so freaking interesting and drew me in immediately! Its not overly detailed but I got enough of the world to understand this book and I want more! More of the science-magic inventions, more of the mixture of cultures-religions-histories from all over the world, more of the background of all the Houses. JUST MORE!
The character relationships and tensions were so FREAKING well done! I honestly can't chose a single favourite character because they are all so distinct and play such good roles and have some pretty awesome dialogue. Hypnos and Enrique seriously remind me of Magnus and Alec from Mortal Instruments and I AM TRASH FOR THEM!
The heist was really cool as it kept delving into more mystery and conspiracy of the world rather than being the big build up event.
So excited for January 15th and I will absolutely be picking up a finished copy.

Huh not terrible. It kinda reminded me of Stardust and the Discworld series.
Ohmygoodness! This is adorable! Tilly is so freaking adventurous and curious and determined and I love it! I wish I got to be a librarian for a hidden secret library! The magic of this was really well explained and made the whole premise really fun. I loved meeting Alice from Wonderland, Anne of Green Gables and Sherlock Holmes.The ending actually took me by surprise so I hope there will be a sequel
HOW IN THE HELL DID I ONLY JUST FIND OUT ABOUT THIS BOOK?! Holy crap it's Supernatural meets like...the X-Men or 007? I dunno buts it's so cool! And of course the stupid bookstore has the AUDACITY to be closed tomorrow so I can't go buy the sequel! Seriously adored the mystery, the weird creatures and inclusion of Science and the government agency and the main character! I freaking LOVED the main character!
