Oh Thomas is such a cutie in this book! I also guessed wrong on this book too as to who was the killer! I was surprised by Thomas's lineage and the concluding letter from the University. I'm a little less excited about the third book being set in the US but I love that Audrey is getting back to her family roots and getting the adventure she craves + an adorable beau!

I wasn't too crazy about how Audrey's personality and decisions seemed to take several steps back from the ending of the last book but I did like seeing her gain confidence in her relationship with Thomas while also demanding respect from a much larger audience who would also be her professional coworkers.

I loved the setting which is part of why I was disappointed in the announcement of the third book going to the US. I want something unique or a little exotic...the US has been done to death. Go to Denmark or Norway or Iceland or something!

My heart hurts at the adorableness of this ending! Also a bit different from the first two books where there was a lot of misleading of who the murderer was while this was more of a "wtf is actually happening" sort of mystery. I adore Audrey and Thomas. This is actually my favourite of the three so far.

This was an interesting book. I went into it kind of expecting a battle with spells type of book but it's more of a political/social view of a world of magic. I loved/hate how similar the social conflict mirrors those hat are happening now in 2017.

It wasn't particularly fast paced but I'm amazed with how much ground was covered in a single book. I was also pretty surprised...yet not surprised by the ending (if that makes sense). I was paying so much attention to everything that the ending never crossed my mind until it happened!

*vacant confused stare*
What the fuck did i just read?! 😳😳😳
This book was SO FREAKING COOL! I had a little hard time following all the science talk but that in no way took away from the story. I love Penny and her relationship with Tom/John. I love reading books set in Canada too and being able to yell "i know where that is!"

Such a cool time travel sci-fi book.

I freaking love this book SO MUCH which is kinda weird with it being about an abusive father and an insane asylum but whatever. The characters and their relationship plus the science of the time is so wonderful.

Man...I was keeping my shit together until the very end! I loved Alex! Come on! Now I'm crying at work!...Everyone should just read this book to try and understand life...

I absolutely adore the relationship between Mira and the dragons! I'm very interested in this noorestone magic and want to see what exactly it can do. I also really liked how much the character and awareness of Mira grew. She was so desperate to get out of the Pit but put other things before that.

I also LOVE THAT THE COVER OF THIS BOOK WITH A PERSON ACTUALLY REPRESENTS THE MAIN CHARACTER! THANK YOU FOR ACTUALLY READING THE CHARACTER DESCRIPTION BEFORE DESIGNING THE COVER!

I really enjoyed the diverse cast and hope that will expand as well (I can definitely see this happening with the political chaos).

This book wasn't perfect but a really fun book overall. I didn't like how the book formatted the lists/options that Mira would have in her monologue. Just seemed very out of place. I also could have done with some more explanation of Altan and his group because I'm not totally clear on how they are enemies other than Altan being the guard. I also think the weird flash back and present day chapter altering that happened at the start was good but then it was just abruptly abandoned and never used again.

This reminded me of Flame in the Mist. It ends with lots of adventure and plot to go but the book itself is a set up to what is to come in the future. Theres lots of focus on politics and what has happened to create this world and it's circumstances. I'm super interested to figure out exactly how the Mira Treaty was used to trick citizens into thinking everything was fine when it obviously wasn't. I hope we are gonna get this ragtag group to Algotti cause...shit is def going down if Mira finds dragons there.

Yup! Still love this book!

My favourite book in this entire series. I can't stand how adorable Scarlet and Wolf are!

I will never not love every book in this series. it just gets better and better. I love that we keep adding new characters, elements and depth to everything.
