Holy balls! This book was amazing. Easily one of my all-time favourite historical fictions (just fell short of beating Outlander). IT's incredibly fascinating and I would recommend it to ANYONE--especially people interested in pre-WWII Germany and Hitler's rise to power!

Betrayal on betrayal on betrayal. This was a cool historical fiction with a lot of love and focus on religion+science which I was pleasantly surprised by (also surprised I enjoyed that part). Big shout out to Galileo!

This wasn't exactly what I was expecting but I really enjoyed this! Lots of different POVs and consistent writing between the two authors. I was expecting them to try and solve the toxic magic stuff destroying the town but that's not the point of the book. Really cool and fast read and A FANTASY STAND ALONE!
Holy crap, I love this book.
1. Roar is the greatest nickname ever for the name Aurora
2. Roar has the coolest powers ever
3. Thank you for not making the romance unnecessarily complicated and faking problems to keep them apart
I had to send a tweet to the author to find it about if there's going to be a sequel cause uh...well I need it now. I have no patience. Gimme, gimme, gimme!
It's not a new kind of fantasy but awesome none the less. My only real problem was the main male lead being rather excited about the main female's virginity and purity. That part of her made sense based on the characters background but he was a little too into it.

Yas! Inter-racial romance + revenge for the win! Think your in-laws are bad? Have they ever blackmailed/kidnapped you?
I am so glad I bought Blacksouls so I can read the sequel asap. The pacing was a little off at the beginning but it got so good! it seemed like Castroman didn't know how to write Edward & Anne in the beginning when they don't like each other but she figured it out after the first 1/3 of the book or so. Boat race/revenge is definitely coming up next and I am sooooooo excited!

This was a lot...A LOT darker of a book than I thought it would be! It was good though and I'm definitely in love with Jamie, Charlotte and her brother (Milo, I believe). Super excited to continue reading the series. It's a quick read with a background story that most of us our quite familiar with.
3.5/5
interesting. I'm not sure where I stand on Jamie and Charlotte's romantic relationship but it's intertwined with their friendship so. if you took the romance away...I dunno. very curious where book 3 will go.
I'm a sucker for art fraud and such so this book was right up my alley.
I live that each side is flawed and has good and evil in them.
I found the writing to be quite choppy in this book. scenes made sense but were ended quite abruptly.

Simply put: this book is absolutely amazing.
The writing blew me away! The cover is gorgeous, the physical book design is perfect, the characters and plot and mystery and action we're so well done and interesting to read. I never felt like the book slowed or bored me. I will absolutely pick up the sequel and I am so mad I took so long to read this. Definitely one of the best books I've read in the year so far.
PS the ending made me cry. AND I KNEW IT WOULD! I don't know why I let books do this to me
