very thought provoking. some ideas I didn't necessarily agree with wholeheartedly, but the author definitely gave me lots to think about in the future. was especially interesting to hear all the parts about promoting and protecting mental health in the lgbtq+ community.

A gorgeously illustrated one shot story. Wonderful premise, beautifully carried out. I'll be looking out for more of nagabes works for sure! Loved the characters and characters design especially.

A lovely child-like adventure. I think I expected this to be more "serious" and "adult" than it is, which is why I was a little put off by the ending - just too saccharine sweet for me. Nothing wrong with it per se, just a grand tone change to the positive that I felt was far too sudden. It was still a mostly satisfying read though. Reminds me of Trenton Lee Stewarts style of writing - not sure if cerulean is meant to be a book for adults or older children anymore.

Very atmospheric writing. I liked how the magic wasn't entirely explained, so the air of mystery was well preserved throughout. A lot of kissing happens and they're all girls. Still, there was something that kept me from connecting with these characters fully, not entirely sure what it was.

A decent collection of advice, but nothing much i didn't already know. I'm definitely not the main audience for this, though - it's for mums.

It's a good children's book, nothing more. Very very fast story. I think from what I'd heard about it I expected it'd be more middle-grade than it actually is. Still a fun light read! Great starter fantasy.

I get this feeling from the writing that the author is... perhaps looking down on the populations he's talking about? I understand that he's likely not right wing, but there was something especially uncomfortable with how he described korean people - how a restaurant worker was supposedly rude to him (I've a feeling he misinterpreted or just missed out what she said in korean, since he doesn't speak the language) or how he describes the country itself... I can't place a finger on it but the further I read on the more uncomfortable I got with how he wrote. I am not East Asian myself so i can't speak certainly but there was something that put me off. I have lived in Korea for an extended period of time so perhaps that's why I was a little sensitive to the korean part in particular - but the part on Japan just before it wasn't so comfortable either.

Lovely beginning of a story. Decent translation, it seems. I've read this before in english.
