Although parts of this book are interesting or even funny, it seems to have been written for a very specific population of good 'ole boys that complain about their wives and are closed minded about anyone that isn't an American. There were several parts that were chauvinistic and generalizing and racist towards muslims and other middle eastern peoples.

I came across this book in a used bookstore and bought it as a gift based on the Goodreads ratings. However, I am so glad I read it prior to giving it as a gift. Many of these poems are too child-like for my taste. The rhyme scheme seems so elementary I had a hard time getting through it. However, there are a few gems toward the end of this volume. I was fond of the free verse poems.
