I came across this book in a used bookstore and bought it as a gift based on the Goodreads ratings. However, I am so glad I read it prior to giving it as a gift. Many of these poems are too child-like for my taste. The rhyme scheme seems so elementary I had a hard time getting through it. However, there are a few gems toward the end of this volume. I was fond of the free verse poems.
