A 'Why Choose' romance heavy on the trigger warnings and red flags - but it was hot af 🤷

After finishing ACOWAR I felt an immediate book hangover settle in - but this was the best little remedy before moving onto ACOSF. I loved getting mini-looks into other POVs.

This was a train wreck. But not the type of train wreck that keeps you reading - the kind that makes you want to throw your phone down an elevator shaft. Terrible writing, characters that suffer no consequences despite causing actual physical harm to others, sexual assault disguised as "sexy revenge," and perpetuating the idea that a plus-size woman isn't beautiful until they lose weight.
What. The. Actual. Fuck.

This is my second Caitlin Doughty book, and just like the first - I greatly appreciate how she infuses humor into the topic of death. Her audiobooks are fantastic - entertaining and animated, and her sense of humor does well in this medium. While these questions came from children, she doesn't shy away from the truth in her answers - no sugar-coating. I'm so excited to see what comes from her next.

A fascinating subject made accessible to young people through humor, inclusivity, and a genuinely interesting topic. I loved the interviews with science professionals throughout the book and the mini-skits between species when moving on to another topic.
And most importantly - this book explains why queerness is NOT unnatural and only found in human beings.

Caused me to stay awake until 3:00 am because I just couldn't stop reading? ✔️
Left me mentally and emotionally exhausted from the twists and turns? ✔️
Made me question everything I thought to expect from the series? ✔️
I love it. That's all.

Wasn't my favorite on the topic, but enjoyable. The author's humor and sarcasm was a great addition to the historical information.
