Started dragging for me by the end and I just completely lost interest in finishing it
mysterious medium-paced

This is such an intriguing mystery, well-presented and with a fairly satisfactory ending. Would recommend for anyone interested in disaster non-fiction ^^

Didn't really like the way this was written; a mix of narrative non-fiction and academic writing styles that I thought really didn't work.

Overall this was just a bit boring for me, I couldn't get invested in it.

Way too fast-paced for me.
informative slow-paced

Good introductory text on intersectional feminism. If you have read a bit around this topic already you probably will be familiar with most of the ideas already, but if you haven't this is a good starting point. It is mostly about the experience of black women in the US, so if you are a non-US reader it might be of limited interest to you.

Found this really slow and unengaging, started it weeks ago and haven't felt any urge to pick it back up.

This follows Harry Cane, an Englishman who immigrates to Canada in the 19th century. He is forced to flee in order to hide his sexuality, and starts a new life as a farmer in a very isolated part of Canada. I enjoyed it, it was an easy read and Harry has meaningful and genuine friendships and relationships. Some parts of the plot did feel a little silly and there were definitely some pacing issues, with all the tension in novel being resolved in the last few pages. It felt like the author ran out of steam a bit and wrapped everything up quickly. Otherwise, an enjoyable read especially if you are looking for queer historical fiction.
