Rather dry and boring in my opinion.

3.5 stars. Some parts were so gripping I couldn't put it down. Other parts were good but not great.

This should be required reading for all middle school students. Maybe this would help create more kids like Summer and fewer bullies. It tackles the subjects of kindness, bullying and friendship. Also, it's told from several points of view to show how different kids handle the same situation so everyone can identify with the characters. Great story!

I loved this story. It follows two vastly different sisters as they survive in France during World War II. Although there is romance on the side, the focus of the story is each sister's journey surviving and helping the resistance during the war. I've read my share of historical fiction set during World War II, and this one one sticks out as a favorite. Also, I learned more about the courage and actions people took to fight the Germans, particularly what the French women did. This story leaves no doubt that that was the greatest generation.
