This was just a non-stop action sequel where Greek myths come to life!
Briseis, Circe, Marie, and Persephone have 28 days to try and find the Mother of the Absyrtus Great to bring all the pieces together and save her mom from the underworld.
I did not expect this to make me tear up at the end! Besides the few baddies, I love every single character in this book! They are all strong and resilient in their own ways and they complement each other well in their quest.
Such a great duology!

First off I have to say..... THAT ENDING! I squealed and I had my suspicions, one of which was true! Ok, moving on....
I like a marriage of convenience and the fact that Dr. Barnabus was married and NONE of his friends knew was priceless. But I'm so glad he needed his bride's (Gemma) help for the mystery of this story because you know they will eventually declare their love for each other.
I just love this cast of characters! The things they do for the poor and helpless are nothing less than amazing. I still love the little bits of penny dreadfuls we get because they add to the background of what is happening to the characters.
I love the mystery of the big baddies and one good one.
Oh, I CANNOT wait for the next installment announcement!

I loved this book-fantasy, magic, rivalry, redemption, and enemies to lovers!
Lisette doesn't possess magic where she performs trucks as a street performer but she has dreams of becoming Jester to the queen and clearing her family name as she believes her father is innocent of killing the king. She will do whatever it takes to get to the top!
She is in a fierce competition with Luc. Luc who does possess real magic, who can heal himself. Luc who infuriates Lisette. Luc who is so swoony 😍 He has his own reasons to become Jester and I loved seeing those reasons unfold.
This was such a fun filled, magical 😉 ride. I would LOVE to see more of these two in another book though I don't know what the author has planned.

I loved this two for one story!
On one hand, you get to see what lashing out in anger can do to ruin everyone's day, you and subsequently they, come in contact with.
On the other hand, you get to see what happens when you choose to listen and be polite.
This story is told in a cute way with dogs as the center. The illustrations that accompany the story are great.
Thanks to the author (and his wife-my lovely friend) for sharing this book with me. All opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed reading Ryan "Preach" and Grace's story in this second of the same world as the book In The Penalty Box. This is a YA sports book with some romance and heavy themes.
Preach and Grace (she's new here) are out past curfew for their town and are involved in an accident which leaves Preach with headaches and Grace with an injured right hand. To make matters worse, they get stuck together with community service at their school.
These teens go through some rough stuff. They share a bit of grief in what they feel is "total loss of their futures" and Preach (though his name implies this is a religious book, it's not really. The nickname comes from Ryan's personal commitment to himself to save himself for marriage) especially spirals in a bad way. But Grace helps to pull him out of it eventually as they turn to and open up with each other.
I liked the push and pull they each give each other. It's not always easy and light as there are very heavy topics throughout but it's ultimately an uplifting book that made me smile.
Thanks to Entangled Ten for the gifted ebook and all opinions are my own.

Flaws of characters a main focus:
Yes
Oh boy was this book fun. It was a fast paced look into the shenanigans of rich people at a country club.
The cast of characters are varied in the situations they all find themselves in. Most of them think they can do whatever they want and not suffer the consequences that follow. From Mandy who will stop at nothing to get to the Scottish pro-golf tournament to the club's president using club funds to fund his two story wine cellar on property.
The only people I really liked here were Jody and Jackson. Jody was so sweet to everyone even when she was being looked down on and made fun of and belittled. She was just the epitome of niceness and she didn't deserve all that was thrown at her.

This was a fast paced modern fantasy about a girl who can grow plants by rich.
Briseis is a teenager who works with her two moms in their flower shop and she can grow plants by touch. She was adopted so she's alone in this power but her moms are supportive and VERY protective of her.
She suddenly inherits a house from her birth mother. They take the summer and head up there to check it out. They are brought into a strange community and things spiral into chaos.
I really liked Briseis a lot. I love that this is a modern tale with a base of Greek myths (the names you encounter for example). The book was so exciting and I never wanted to put it down!

Oh this book was so good. A mix of mystery, some newspaper articles, and court testimony, it will keep you in suspense from the first to the last page.
I thought the author did well with the voice of our 11 year old Tommie. He was a boy that was given away to his aunt until she is murdered and then he's sent to live with his mom-who's a live-in housekeeper for the Henneberry family. Tommie tries to keep his head down but the family sees him as kind of a "plaything"
The Henneberry's are a prime example of rich people who don't care for those that aren't. The Mrs. of the house is a bit strange in the head. She really takes to Tommie but I felt she put him in dangerous and frightful positions for his age.
I really didn't like Martin and Dr. Henneberry at all.
I was a bit shocked at who the killer turns out to be, though I should have seen it. Poor person!

Although I really couldn't stand Brad and his attitude when he wasn't happy and his pressure to Anne for sex when he knew she was waiting for marriage, I do appreciate Anne for holding onto her own values so tight.
Anne was a character of upstanding value and friendliness. I love that she could make almost anyone she met comfortable. But she did make a few weird choices with Brad I felt.
This story was mostly good, just little parts here and there that bugged me but I think that a lot of people with firm Christian values might appreciate it the most. I kind of wish Anne had found someone else....i wasn't attached to their romance at all.

First of all, this book you will NOT be able to put it down until you finish! It's such a compulsion to find out what in the world is going on that it just keeps you riveted.
Liv had a specific amnesia that stems from a trauma she experienced.... That she can't remember. Anytime she falls asleep, she wakes up thinking she's back in her life 2 years ago. She becomes very confused and scares a lot of people because her life has been dramatically different.
I was obsessed with Liv. I loved how we slowly got glimpses into what happened 2 years ago. While I figured out a few things, I didn't figure out the main *spoiler here* until closer to the end.
This was a bit like the movie 50 First Dates not with murder. That's what I kept thinking during the whole thing. What a terrible thing to go through not remembering anything once you wake from sleep.
