While I'm not totally thrilled with the way some things went (I'm still #teamjet) , I was so excited that because us fans of The Kinder Poison and The Cruelest Mercy wanted me, Natalie delivered us more!

Zahru is one tough cookie. She has moral dilemmas sometimes with her power but her friends always make sure she doesn't cross too much of a line that she can't come back from.  Jet is such a faithful servant to Zahru even after they both realize that they won't be having a relationship more than Mehstra (queen) and advisor. (Sad face😞 for me)... But I was surprised at a relationship that DID develop for Jet.

This was an adventurous undertaking with many tense moments and tons of moments where you just couldn't trust a certain someone! All in all, I think it was a great end to this series and thanks to Natalie for listening to her fans 😄

The story is heartbreaking as it deals with the aftermath of a girl who lost her twin brother in a school shooting and a boy whose mother is defending the shooter. They meet each other at mutual friends band auditions though they don't know who each other is at first.

They both are going through difficult things in their lives obviously but dealing with difficult parents at the same time who don't seem to care about them anymore. Or seem to care about themselves anymore.

There were times that I couldn't stand them because they were both so angry but there's also a part of me that I would act the same way if I was in their circumstances.

I appreciate the author's note and the the big shootings that she talks about and appreciated that she put the people (who lost their lives) names out there again so that we can always remember.

I don't totally buy into the premise that parts of our DNA could give us the "perfect match" of a soulmate but it made for an interesting plot twist on a fake dating trope that I ended up enjoying.

Jess is doing such a great job as a mom and granddaughter and a freelancer . I really like her friendship with Fizzy and how Jess describes her child's personality as half of her and half her best friend.

I felt for River when Jess and Fizzy thought he was rude but he was just shy. I feel that way. I connected with him that way.

River and Jess were just so cute falling in love slowly and without the pretense that science is the ONLY way they could have possibly been matched.

This book was so fun and also super fast to read through! I love the way the 2 MCs-former best friends that have been " enemies" for 4 years... Were constantly sniping at each other but in a funny way to me. I liked when they finally got through their first wilderness week and ended up TALKING about what went wrong between them.

I liked the mental health rep with the MMC's OCD. I liked the potential both saw in each other for their real dreams and not what their parents wanted for them. (Glad they finally opened up to said parents). I liked to see their worry for a potential, more than friends relationship, and how real it felt. Great branch for the author into YA!

I just couldn't stand the girl MC anymore.....too whiny and mean to Nate when they aren't in the act of sex 🤦‍♀️

One of the best books with banter that I've read in a while. I loved Zahra's passion for her job and where she works. Which is very reminiscent of Disneyland but it was absolutely fun. I LOVE how she broke down Rowan's insecurities and made him face them. I liked how they pushed each other to be the best part of themselves.

When they get together, whew! It's fire! I can't wait for more Kane brothers!

Jacks.... Do I love him? Do I hate him? Probably a little of both.

Evangeline has no choice but to align with Jacks once again as the only person she might be able to trust, but she didn't explicitly trust him. He can keep her safe from a curse put on Apollo who is trying to kill her. He also needs her to open the Valory arch and to do that, they must find all these stones.

With stories that change the more you read them or disappear completely, it takes a long time for Evageline to get the truth of the Valors. Jacks as usual gives her partial truths, but when she discovers who Jacks REALLY is... It's part dream and nightmare.

I liked this book but am hopeful that book 3 will give us some more action to it. This book tended to lag a bit

This was a great second chance romance on what sounds like an amazing island!

Cate and Knox were dating years ago until Knox left to pursue his dream of being a world renowned photographer. He comes back to the island to help his uncle through a surgery recovery. He almost runs into Cate immediately and feelings come back.

Cate is such a great woman. She's really good at her job, loves the islands so is amazing as a guest services rep, and was very brokenhearted when Knox left. So she guards her heart for as long as she can.

The island has this treasure hunt tour thing to get to see the island and when Cate and Knox team up, they get closer again. When an opportunity comes up for Knox, it was nice to see how struggle between following his dream or staying with his love.

Loveable characters: No

I am not big into reading about political story lines and I didn't like that this was the topic besides romance....BUT I have to say by the end, I was cheering for this bill they were trying to pass.

Well, this was only my second book by Winstead but it definitely fell below the mark for me because IN MY DREAMS I HOPE A KNIFE was just infinitely better. The biggest problem I had was all the cheating in this book. Most is talked about from the past but I didn't buy any of the excuses they gave for cheating. I didn't really like either Ben or Lee.
Lee just felt like a person that I would just avoid being near and Ben, I felt, would have been better off just not ever pursuing Lee after what she did to him.

While this wasn't my favorite so far, I'm still very excited for The Last Housewife and anything else the author will come up with.

Overly sweet and cute, enemies to lovers, banter galore, and good healthy competition made this a fun read.
(For some reason, I'm really bugged that tatted up Ronan in the story does not look that way on the cover. It's a small reason, but make them match!)

I liked Ronan's playful (if sometimes really immature) side . I love what he's doing with his bar for his Gramps. I enjoyed that he was basically like a hipster lumberjack but my heart grew at the reason he wore plaid all the time.

I liked the fact that Blaire went out on her own to live her own dream instead of being in the (kind of messed up family) family business. I liked that she gave banter as good as she got with Ronan.
