Parker and Logan 😍 those two are perfection!
This is a great, clean, closed door hockey romance that will sweep you off your feet!

Parker works for the minor league Appies hockey team as a social media manager (love that the hockey team does TikTok dances) and Logan is back in town (and has been a secret crush of Parker's forever) after 10 years to play on the team. After Parker needs Logan to fake date her and attend her dad's birthday gala, the two keep up the pretense of fake dating.

One thing about Parker is she's never been kissed... There have been many close times but something always gets in the way. I adore the scene (it's so hot without being explicit) where Logan tells Parker how he'd kiss her. He is SUPER SWOONY ❤️. Then when she yells at her brother (there is a whole thing with Brandon and Logan who were best friends) in the elevator and what happens after....perfection!

The ending (an amazing grand gesture) is so beautiful and funny at the same time! 

This was intense and wasn't the story I was quite expecting but it was still good. I finished it in one sitting. Logan and Delilah..... Logan was just crazy- a stalker that just got too close too fast to a couple of girls. Delilah had to deal with her mother's creepy and abusive boyfriend and I can't believe what she got away with. He was a bad guy but I can't believe she played so innocently that no one suspected her in his death.

I did not see that drug stuff coming back into play and how it went down. I was just so shocked at how good Delilah is at what she felt she needed to do. 

Star was born to hippie parents who never married and practically left her to raise herself. Rafe grew up with rich, but loving parents and is a vet. They meet when Star is dressed up as a Disney princess at his niece's birthday party. He later proposes a fake dating arrangement that will benefit her financially and get his mom and sister to stop trying to set him up with any (and all 🤣) women.

As this fake relationship progresses, Star starts to conform her life into trying to be the girl his parents always imagined him with but in this, she starts to lose herself and all she is. 

I loved the progress of the MCs relationship! Rafe is so freaking hot and adorable and grumpy! Their chemistry is off the charts. Their fakeness went real a lot quicker than other books I've read of this type, but it was great for them both to realize what makes them happy and how they could get it, everyone else be damned. 

The "grumpiness" seemed to much towards rude. I think it needs to be edited a bit, it seemed a bit jumbled

If a book is about a cult, I'm so in for it!

Delia gets an email from her estranged friend Cara letting her know she has big news to tell her. When Delia goes home, Cara is missing! This sets her on a quest to find Cara at the last place she was...Salthouse Place. Set to be a "women's retreat" it's soon uncovered to be a cult..... But Delia finds this out too late as she's in deep.

I'm always fascinated by the facade a cult puts up to hide their true intentions. Delia was what a lot of the time and didn't let them get in her head but there are times where she did. This is a very multilayered and twisted ride. So many things could have been prevented if people acted a different way. 

In a world where monsters exist, they can steal time off the end of the life of humans.  Also, the hero is the bad guy.

Joan finally learns (and has her world turned upside down) she is half monster/half human when she accidentally touches a man's neck and travels through time. Now the boy she likes slaughters her whole family and her world is turned upside down yet again.

I don't know why Joan's family didn't let her know their secrets sooner, she might have been spared a lot of heartache. I enjoyed the fact that a boy who comes from a family who hates her family helps her in this journey of trying to fix things.

This fictional story is based on the true lives of Ann- a white woman abolitionist and Anthony- a Black slave who escapes the South only to be discovered and returned after a few months.

This is a book that will break your heart as you see the horror Anthony is put through. There are some very hard chapters especially during his incarceration in a jail. One at the end absolutely turned my stomach. But Anthony had this quiet strength to him that I really admired.

Ann had many difficulties, falling ill at a young age, but she also was an amazing person in her work.

I would not have waited so long to read this!
Marcellus the Octopus- what a smart creature and I'm glad he was a character in this book. We can all learn from this cephalopod who gains knowledge as he watches humans interact.

Tova for her tender care of this creature. She is grieving a son she lost many years ago and Marcellus will help her along the way to discover just how much she missed out on a certain someone's life.

Cameron is adrift and searching for where he might belong. He will find his way to his father through Tova.

I read this book in a day and I will remember these characters fondly!

Workplace banter (if I had those coworkers, it would be so fun!) and a competition with an ex for a new writing position is just the type of fun book this is!

Lana and Seth were high school sweethearts that had plans to both move to LA for college to focus on writing careers until all that changed.

Now Seth is in town and is thrust into a competition with Lana as the company she works for acquires the place he hopes to write for.

I thought this was unique in the fact that they didn't do their list of requirements all on their own... There are a lot of things they do together. This kept the banter high and had me cheering them on. I loved the coworkers text chain that had me laughing. I really liked the things these two got to discover about themselves and how they seemed always destined to love each other. The ending was super fabulous too.

First of all, read this series in order to best understand.

I loved this final installment. Móirín is so good at what she does but now The Tempest is threatening everyone she loves and their way of helping those that need it. Fitz is a detective and becomes a help to the DPS.

I felt there was non stop heart in my throat moments but I know how good these guys are and I know they'll make it through. As always, I love how the Dread Penny stories tie into the story.

I'm going to miss this gang!
