I think book 1 and this one should be read concurrently because I was a little lost on this book.
Io and Bianca are in most of this book, following a golden thread to a God that they can't find. They come to realize that people are being kidnapped and their world seems to be heading towards the apocalypse.
This was a very wordy book and I felt myself grazing non speaking parts- which there was a lot. I wanted to see even more of Io and Eidi and didn't get that much in this book either. I don't know how their thread, when Io used it to sever the life of one of the Gods, that it was still able to be connecting these two fated lovers.
I guess I'm glad it's a duology because I would be done if it was a whole series.

This was a really cute and swoon worthy marriage of convenience. I laughed at how Maya got married.... Again.... In Vegas. It's her theme.
What I really liked was Sloan. I love that they communicated first off that they would never MIScommunicate during their marriage and they had no qualms for trying to make it work.
Maya gets headliner fame out of this instead of being in the background. I loved how Sloan helped steer her career in the right direction by posting a video he took off her singing and original song. I liked the salt/pepper conversations and what they meant to these two.
I can't wait to read more of her books, I've become a fan

Willie, trapped in a very unhappy marriage, watches her husband have a heart attack and doesn't call for help. This sets her free to go find herself because she is more than a wife (slave seems a more accurate term because of the way her husband treated her 😡)
This book was nice to show that you can start over or find your true self at any age. This story is a look into female empowerment. I liked the person Willie was finding in herself (though I didn't agree with all her choices....I still felt 'more power to her'). I'm so glad she was able to finally go see her friend when her friend needed her the most.
I was mad at her son Jonathan. He was turning out to be just like his rotten dad. I'm so glad that Willie's time with her friend gave her the confidence to choose her daughter in law over her son.

I liked seeing these more middle aged MCs having quite the adventure!
Celeste is asked by her friend Chris to partner with his friend John for some event but she gets the signals wrong. Suddenly she's the pretend new girlfriend of John in a birding contest!
This was a new type of adventure novel with the birding contest and I liked the uniqueness. I really enjoyed the budding relationship with Celeste and John and the insecurities they helped each other with.

Why, when I hate watching reality TV, do I love to read about it? 🤷♀️ I really don't know.
Anika is sent to a Bachelor type TV show to investigate quietly a director accused of sexual misconduct. One small problem is that she met the star, the King Luca, the night before and now is immediately thrust into the spotlight to cover a last minute drop out. How can they pretend to be falling in love for this show?
I really liked Anika. She does things that I would never dare do in her position and she does it with such conviction and really stands up for the right, even at the cost of careers. Luca is an amazing King- doing something he would never normally do if he didn't have a Kingdom to worry about. I'm so glad we still get to see the 3 friends together - Anika, Ivy and Harper.
I saw a few things coming from a mile away and one really made my blood boil but I still liked to watch it play out.... All I can say is at the end is thank goodness for the King!

I think this was a case of me liking the second book in the series more!
Gabriel is sent to live among humans with limited powers in order to step up to be CEO of his parent's company. He goes to work at Toil and Trouble and meets Leah, a human that knows about the magical world but has never divulged it.
I loved that Leah also devoted time to a rescue shelter. This is where a lot of the turmoil of this story comes from...vandalism, false complaints, etc .... All to get Gabe to break down and lose his contract.
I love how Leah slowly softens Gabe. I love all the animals at the shelter.

A unique book with a group of swimsuit/ singing girls called Florida Girls are on a USO type ish tour during WW2 but it's a front for a Mafia crime syndicate.
There are a lot of POVS here and it's a bit hard to keep some of the people straight but we mostly are in the mind and see through the eyes of Thelma. She is a girl who just happened to miss a bus she was supposed to be on now she quickly becomes embroiled in this tour and the darker part of it.
I hated what Thelma was made to do for her mom but it did give her information to use later to benefit her through this stage of her life she had found herself in.

What starts out as a kiss with a stranger while in a closet at a conference, Elle and Quinn become best friends and vow to spend a week each fall together at this same place. But life, of course, has other ideas and though they see each other as class to that will add possible, it's not necessarily always fun or easy.
Living an ocean apart and having sparks but not wanting to ruin their friendship is a challenge for them. I loved these two though. I love how Quinn is always there for Elle when she needs him, even at the risk of other relationships he tried to have. I was gutted near the end and kind of upset with Quinn but also understanding.
I'm excited to read Elle's sister Lydia's story next!

Oh my stars, how great was this book!
I was crying by the end, it was so beautifully written.
Will and Graham, you just knew they had to be the end game. I loved that after they got together, they were together. I love how warm and supportive everyone they knew was to them. This wasn't all lighthearted (see the crying above). There were very tough family issues for both of them but in a way that they both felt deeply and were able to be there in a big way for each other.
I love the friendship of Will and Klair. How great to have a buddy for so long that knows and loves you inside and out! They were hilarious with each other and we're just brimming with joy while around each other.
I also love seeing how Will was able to work on a manuscript with the "author" (quotes for IFKYK)...a little behind the scenes into that aspect of publishing.
