I flew through this lovely story about sisters!
How hard to be left at an orphanage at a young age, never to see your own mother again! Why did Dorothy and Esther's mom abandon them?
After the sisters age out of Blakeley Hall, they only have each other. But there is already the threat and then actual coming of war. I really liked how they took care of each other in different times of need. There are sad parts as lives are lost.
The end made me a bit sad as we find out why they were left in the first place.

*trigger warning for abuse (sexual and mental), death and a traumatic event *
This was a great story. I love Liya. I love that she speaks her mind even though that's not how she was raised. She's so snarky and I love her arguments with Jay.
Jay is such a sweetheart and such a loving family guy. He knows he's charming but he isn't cocky.
I love the enemies to lovers side of this book. The first meeting of them? Kind of funny and a bit crazy. From the having to work together to the late night chats that slept bring them to friends and more was adorable.
I love learning a bit more about the Indian culture. I really hate the trauma that Liya went through and I hate the one who hurt her even more. What a disguising excuse for a person!!

Angela is calmly creepy in this page turner about her obsession with her high school love. The way she goes through the whole book acting like she is innocent and I think she believes she is. Pretty good story
Thanks to the author, Danielle, for sending me a copy to read and review.
This was a slow burn of a novel but one that was well done.
Lily (a survivor of being held captive for 16 months) wakes up from a car crash. She doesn't know who she is, who she's with or what happened. Another woman is found murdered and dumped behind Iver's bar. Iver is an Afghanistan vet and has been on medication to help with blinding migraines. He is accused of the woman's murder and guess what... He can't remember what happened either!
Kylie, the only woman detective in town, is assigned to the case.
I loved all the twists and turns in this case. I didn't have an inkling of who might be the murderer.

4.5 ⭐
I bought this book because 1) cover love and 2) a witch and witch hunter as the MCs? Oh yes!
Lou is a foul mouthed thief and witch. Reid is a Chasseur, a witch hunter. They are forced to marry. How will they work this out?
I loved this face paced world of magic and those that hate magic. I liked Lou-she's funny and speaks her mind. Reid tries to be stone faced and follow the rules he has as Captain of the Chasseurs, but I loved watching Lou wear him down!
I also really liked the supporting characters- Coco and Ansel. I can't wait to see more of the covens in the next book.
I already pre-ordered the next book..... Even before finishing this one!

*trigger warnings - suicide and child abuse though they aren't talked about a lot*
The book had a strong premise but where it took us was a little lackluster to me.
We have Alice who has never gotten over her brother leaving at age 15. The book starts out with Rob's funeral and we see looking back to the past that she never got to see him again.
Clearing out her childhood home that is set to be demolished, she finds several letters from Rob and decides to deliver them. She doesn't end up finding out a whole lot but uncovers lies from certain people who should have you her the truth.
I love the book being set in the South and Alice's journey to New Orleans where she finds out the truth. I wish the book had been a bit shorter especially as to some of the letters not being that great.

4.25 stars-
I wish there was more focus on the son and his kidnapping.
Marin, loses sight of her son in a crowded market for a few seconds and he's kidnapped. The police and FBI turn up nothing and the case fizzles. Through a PI hired by Marin to find her son, Marin learns that her husband is having an affair. This is where most of the story is focused-Marin wants revenge because how could her husband be cheating on her when they both have gone through something horrific and should be closer than ever.
The only one who seems to understand her and her grief is her best friend Sal.
I started to suspect certain things and people closer to the end and when I saw the truth is what was happening, my jaw dropped and I flew through the last bit.,

I love the O'Conner family! This is book 6 in a series.
We get to see Patrick's story. Patrick was thought to have died in the war 13 years ago. His brother's widow reveals that he was mistakingly put as "killed in action". He's now on his way to his family out West, hoping they will forgive him for all the years of lies.
Eliza is a widowed mother who has headed to Hope Springs to take a job with the Archer family to provide for her and her almost 2 year old daughter.
They both have pasts that they want to overcome. Can they help each other through them?
I love this series about this beautiful Irish people and their sweet little town. I love the author's ability to write people with real struggles that they have to overcome, all while pulling at your heartstrings!

This was a fun historical romance. I did wish we had seen more of the suffragist's movement. It could have added on another star for me.
Annabelle is one of the first female students to attend Oxford University. She is the daughter of a vicar and works in the household of her cousin. She joins the movement because she strictly believes that women should have the power to do anything instead of just get married and run a household. She is tasked with trying to get Sebastian Montgomery, a commander of the Tory party, to side with them.
But of course, Montgomery, is too hard to resist and they soon become locked in a battle of passion!
