I adored the last book of this series! I read it all in one day. Emerson is my favorite sister. I love them all though. The family dynamic is very fun and loving. I felt the whole time that Emerson deserved more than Mark. Great book!

Beautiful story about a group of friends trying to navigate their world as the AIDS crisis hits Chicago. Yale and Fiona are 2 of the characters that mostly take center stage and were my favorites. This book will make you laugh, cry, and think.

Alice is a woman with the world at her feet. ....a successful business and a wonderful family with her second husband. Also a best friend, Beth, she can commiserate with. The loss of Tom was hard on Alice but she found she could become happy again with Nathan.
I really liked the way it was written- Alice present day, then backgriundy on Beth, then ball to the present with them both.
I can't do into much detail as Beth without giving things away but I gotta say- her story seemed so nice and sweet until the end.
I figured out a part of the ending on page 108, but that fully didn't stop me from enjoying finding out about it all and the true motivation around it all. The story just gets crazier and crazier.
At least Alice gets to keep one part of her story perfect.

Very sad tale. I liked Tom. He seemed to be a good man, but nothing really happened for him until he met Hannah. It was a mistake to marry Trudy, but I love that Tom loved her son Peter even though he wasn't his father.
We get glimpses of Hannah's life before coming to Australia. She survived a WW2 camp but lost so much too.
It's sickening what happened to Peter at the"Jesus camp" at the hand of the Pastor. *Trigger warning for child abuse*

I love Khai! He's so adorable. Esme is such a wonderful girl. She is so determined to make a go of this situation she has been brought into. As Khai and Esme learn to work together as a couple, it just warned my heart. Quan is hilarious in this book too. There's a certain scene with the two brothers at Quan's apartment that had me laughing so hard! This book was just amazing!

This was a really good family drama! What would you do for the ones you love? Would you do ANYTHING it takes to help them? Would what you do really help or harm?
I love having the 3 different perspectives-dad, mom, and daughter. Each one brings certain things to light that the others never saw or knew.

Twenty years ago, Rachel may have accidentally killed her half brother in a teenage game gone wrong. Now she's a divorced mom of two teenagers who test her and still living with the guilt of Luke's death. Things start happening to Rachel on the 20th anniversary of the death and she's becoming paranoid with all that is going on.
Who is behind the paranoia Rachel feels and why? Her ex Cade, who is a police officer, takes on the case as new murders start taking place. Is it all connected to that fateful night 20 years ago? Who else is feeling the guilt of that night?
Lisa Jackson does a very good job of scene setting. You feel the paranoia along with Rachel and it makes you question everything.

I love historical fiction but this was slow and boring to me. I tried to like it. I was ok with the characters
.. Though there were many so I kept mixing up who was who. I was looking for more mystery than it gave.

A great novel about a cult where the women aren't allowed choices or to get to use their "voice". Miriam is a faithful follower until things go wrong in the marriage ceremony. Will her inner voice get to be heard? I really loved Miriam and Aaron.
Well written and drew me in!

I liked having the two different points of view of Lila based on her choices that lead her to where she ends up in each situation. I liked how some things overlapped in unique ways to each situation too. I was very shocked at the end as to who was the kidnapper, it was kind of crazy who it was and why they did it to Lila.
