Clean regency romance with a mystery to solve combined! I don't really get why Elise was so cold toward her best friend! It was only 4 years that they didn't see each other, that's not overly long. I was glad when she finally let him and trusted him with her secrets. I'm so happy they got together in the end!

Definitely wasn't my regular kind of book, but once in awhile I like to pick up a book that I've never heard of and just see how it goes.
I never really got to caring for Jess, the main character. She wasn't anything special (well besides turning into a Mermaid)

This book deals with 2 childhood foster children that grew up together in a house of abuse. The boy always taking beatings so the girl didn't have to (much). Reunited at senior year of high school (after the girl being home schooled by the couple that adopted her).
It was a beautiful, heartbreaking at times story that will stay with me.

"The rule of comparisons is an endless circle, for there will always be greater and lesser people than yourself."

It sounds horrible, having to hire an "ugly" girl to make yourself look better, and it is, but I quite enjoyed this book despite the reason of the agency.
The characters Maude and Isabelle (though her it doesn't seem at first) were sweet.

It's always fun to read about a character in more depth than the last book. While Lord Fenton has his faults, he was a great character.

It was WAY too long of a book. I wanted it to pick up and when it didn't really, I was too far into it to want to let it go. It could have been better being about 200 pages shorter.... There was just SO much detail.
