I love when a great, amazing Gothic tale just pulls you right in.

1947- Winterbourne is a creepy, mansion in Cornwall overlooking a cliff. Alice comes to be a governess to twins Constance and Edmund. The children are sweet at first but things soon turn darker. Their father, Jonathan de Grey wounded in the war and having lost his first wife, ignores all the goings on in the house.

Present Day-
Rachel was adopted as a baby. She received news that she has inherited Winterbourne and that she is the heir to the de Grey fortune.

I liked both past and present story lines. They blended well together. The past was more creepy and atmospheric to me and I felt like I was right there!

Scarlett is a killer. She meets out her own justice on men who do horrible things to young college girls. She's meticulous and careful. The first chapter puts you right into one of her kills.
Carly is a freshman at Gorman college. Her friend and roommate Allison is attacked one night at a party and Carly vowes to help her as she can.
A dark, sexy, and gritty thriller! This was a real page turned. I couldn't wait to see what Scarlett would do next. There is a part of the story where certain things line up and I was pleasantly surprised. This was just as good as her first book, Temper!

My most anticipated read is the fall wasn't as good as I had hoped. I FLEW through book 1. I did read this fast but because I wanted to not miss discussing it with a buddy read group.

Lou and Reid- they fight A LOT with each other in this book. They just didn't have that spark they had in the first book. Now it was just because Reid was having the hardest time processing that he is a half witch-which I get. But the chemistry and trust they developed in the first book just didn't help get them through it until closer to the end! I have to say that part 3 was both the most exciting okay if the book and the most painful (if you read it, you will know what I refer to) and that painful part gutted me

4.5 ⭐
I bought this book because 1) cover love and 2) a witch and witch hunter as the MCs? Oh yes!

Lou is a foul mouthed thief and witch. Reid is a Chasseur, a witch hunter. They are forced to marry. How will they work this out?

I loved this face paced world of magic and those that hate magic. I liked Lou-she's funny and speaks her mind. Reid tries to be stone faced and follow the rules he has as Captain of the Chasseurs, but I loved watching Lou wear him down!
I also really liked the supporting characters- Coco and Ansel. I can't wait to see more of the covens in the next book.

I already pre-ordered the next book..... Even before finishing this one!

Susannah owns a successful business called Life Celebrations. She had tragedy strike her life at just 15. Every year as an adult, she has gone on a yoga retreat. This time is different... This time she meets Ben.
Ben is a very successful musician. Ben and Susannah are drawn to each other during a class, even though Ben is trying to lie low and not be known to be there.

There is insta-love which I'm normally not here for, but this is different. This is very sweet and they just complement each other so well!

If you want an amazing romance with real life lessons, pick up this book. I will never look at a dragonfly the same ♥️

Aubrey runs a small bakery. When food critic, Landon, writes a scathing review (after eating a cake not meant for anyone but a sweet little birthday girl), Aubrey's business suddenly drops.
She is on the verge of losing all she's worked for. (Oh and they had a one night stand before they knew who each other really was).

Landon offers Aubrey the chance to earn some money for her business-by being on a cooking show and wowing people with her delicious desserts. They will spend 3 weeks together filming it all at an amazing villa.

The tension and heat between the two is

Unlikeable kids. Logan, Grayson, Holly, and Meeka murder their "friend" Cole and video record their confessions on their phones. They bury all evidence in a hole on Meeka's family property.
Then a meme starts spreading of them from a screenshot of their video. They start to wonder who saw what they did and how?

I was invested through most of this but the ending had me wtf... It doesn't tidy everything up.
The kids aren't great kids at all. The meme isn't that horrible, just kids being cruel and making up rude sayings to go along.

Also, who has a freaking "hack club" in their high school? Why would you teach teenagers how to hack computers.... Not a good idea at all!

3.5 This was an eerie book! I've never read a book on lucid dreaming but it seems so surreal!

Poor Paul, his mother has dementia and is dying and he has to come back to the town where he lost his friends. Charlie was a creepy little dude and getting to know him and his "grooming" of James was just chilling. I just can't believe how someone can be so persuasive to another and the frightening aftermath.

Also, what is with the mail slots Mr. North?! I'm so glad I don't have one in my door!

I was so excited to finally read Shot's story. The mysterious biker (not sure why the cover went cowboy?) that has been my favorite character in the series.

We met Presley (a coroner) in the last book as a half sibling to the Lawton's in Loveless. She has been the victim of her former friend turned stalker out to ruin Presley's life.

Shot is the resident leader of the Sons of Sorrow motorcycle club. He's always been a not so favorite of the Lawton's, especially Sheriff Case. Now he feels it's his first to watch over Presley... After all, she did save his life.

Presley and Shot can not be any more different! But I loved them together... Very opposites attract! Shot is tough on the outside but is actually a very caring and supportive guy.

Ok this is the craziest thriller I've read in awhile! The twins in here are nuts and obsessive! Summer is obsessed with having it all and she does. Iris is obsessed with having all Summer has.... And more.
Their dad has a crazy will stipulation. It makes everyone willing to do whatever they can to get what the will can give them.

I think this one is a really good one to not know a lot about before reading but pick it up! It's insane and crazy good! I had to read the last two chapters twice to make sure I knew what happened!!
