This was a fun historical romance. I did wish we had seen more of the suffragist's movement. It could have added on another star for me.
Annabelle is one of the first female students to attend Oxford University. She is the daughter of a vicar and works in the household of her cousin. She joins the movement because she strictly believes that women should have the power to do anything instead of just get married and run a household. She is tasked with trying to get Sebastian Montgomery, a commander of the Tory party, to side with them.
But of course, Montgomery, is too hard to resist and they soon become locked in a battle of passion!

This was crazy!
A woman shoves a baby in your arms and then commits suicide by jumping onto the subway tracks right in front of you?
Poor Morgan. She's thrust into being a suspect from what you, as an observer, see that she didn't push Nicole onto the tracks.
Poor Nicole too. She loves her baby so much and wants to protect her and I feel bad about what she felt sure had to do to make that happen.

In this world of magic, what magic you have or don't have, sets you up for life. Zahru is one of the lowest forms of magics, a Whisperer who can hear and talk to animals. She sneaks into the palace with her friend, Hen. Zahru unwittingly becomes the sacrifice in a race for the throne-The Crossing. A harrowing journey into the desert where the victor will claim the crown.

Jet and Kasta! Two princes- both were so convincing in their roles that I didn't know which one to trust! They both despise the other. Little sister Sakira is also in this race and will also do whatever she can to win.

This was very fast paced and builds such a great world for you to get lost in. The ending had me already begging for more and this first book has yet to be published! (But soon--coming June 16, 2020)

What can I say about this? It's hard to do a review....I loved seeing behimd the scenes. I love the formatting that was used. You get a lot of input from certain aspects of the show from the cast and crew. It's a huge book but I found myself really huge chunks of it with no time at all seeming to have passed.

I admit fully that I wasn't a Modern Family viewer until Season 5 I believe. I just remember my husband and I hearing them winning all these Emmys all the time and along "Can it really be that great? Maybe we should try it out cuz people rave about it" and we ended up just loving it!

I think fans of the show will appreciate this read.

This gothic boarding school book set in rural Pennsylvania is an interesting little story.
Students spend 3 whole years here, including summers, learning to become great minds.
What happens here is a little bit of class time, but a whole lot of partying and sexual activities.
Ines is a student that needed to run away from the secrets of her past and becomes probably the only student in the school that starts to sense that things aren't quite right.
The ending had me going "THAT'S how it ends?!"
I really wanted to like this more because it seemed to have such promise but I left it feeling confused.

The story took me for for a spin. There were 2 characters that had some issues that I didn't even think they might have had and it was interesting to find out that my perspective was flawed.
I can't believe that Zach was so manipulative and it took Lizzie way too long, in my opinion, to see it.

While I felt that the first book was more exciting (as I finished that in 2 days) this book was still good

Zelie and Amari have brought magic back to the maji. People we thought gone are still around. Zelie and Amari don't agree at all in this book. Amari is trying to come to terms with her new powers and wanting to take the throne away from her mother and Inan.
Zelie is trying to come to terms with being a leader and training the maji in their powers.

I can't wait for the 3rd installment because of the cliffhanger

Will meets Ruby the first day of senior year in high school. Will know that his life will never be the same and that he will be with Ruby always.
We get to see Ruby's journey on the way to stardom. It's a very hard road and Will is always by her side. They both rise higher and higher in their respective roles- she as the beautiful singer and he as talent manager.

But stardom comes at a cost.

Ruby and Will's friendship is so enviable! They just connected fast and it seems that their souls are the same. They have amazing friends with them on their journeys that help them both see what they see in each other.

Moving, sad, tragic, and uplifting. Shows that when you love someone, you need to let them know.... As soon as you know it yourself and often.

Painfully shy Nora has loved her childhood best friend, James, for so long. She declared her love to him and he went away. Years later, he's back. But she's made a promise to her father to marry another. It's not a love match but she figures if she can't have the one she wants, she'll make do with the one who has asked for her hand.

There's a big problem though. Her intended hardly can look her in the eye and they have never talked much. Nora wants what her parents married for... love. Even though they may have fallen a bit out of that, Nora soon learns the secret as to why.

I loved James. He's so sweet and attentive and always can draw out the things that Nora wants to say. I felt for Nora because I often feel the same way she did. This is a great Regency story!
