This story was *potterless voice* sooo goood!
I immediately feel into the suspense of the story, as well as, falling in love with the characters! who doesn't love a bunch of young misfits on a rescue mission/ heist? the people who are wrong, that's who! also, the representation in the book is Dope! &intersectional!!! truly iconic!
The wordlbuilding and getting to know the characters' backstory was done progressively and in beat with the narrative, in a way that flowed super well and that i loved! i always wanted to know what came next; amazing pacing that keept me on the edge of my seat.

as i'm sitting here trying to write a review, the only thing that occurs to me is "i have no words"
this book broke me in the best way, the way that books manage to do.

it's the opposite of Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe and, yet, it is so close to it they could be brothers, even twins.
Ari&Dante will put your heart back together again, while this book will smash it apart. but they both speak of the same type of love, of love that feels written by the gods or the universe. of love that will live beyond all that. TSOA will break your heart but also leave it at rest, certain of love that the gods cannot control.

and, as representation tends to do, it gives you a much necessary feeling of hope and possibility.

****
also finishing it 24 hours after Avengers: Endgame was not a wise decision

I prefer Six of Crows, but this sequel was very well done

it's super fun to reread this series, and this might be one of the best books to reread ever. There's just so much there!

the found family of it all!

i wanted to like it more but i just didn't. the world is great and the adventure was fun, but the way it was told just didn't excited me very much. a bit too tell instead of show, perhaps? also it's a kids book being read by a 23 year old...

very cool story, awesome artwork and palette. it reminds me of stranger things (and a bit of marvel), but with more modern vibes. Super excited to get to the other volumes

okay, i understand the love for this book, it's totally worth the "hype" , completely deserving of being a classic. Jane & Lizzy are

5 stars for some teenage angst. but seriously this book is so good and the movie made it no justice at all
