LOVED this one. The arcs of character development are magnificent. I had read reviews beforehand that described the book as too slow. I had the opposite experience. So much happens in this one. I enjoyed it way more than the first book. There isn’t a character I am not attached to. But of course the one I feel fondest towards: Hoa. 

Controlled, precise narration; solid plotting. And the politics of it: 10/10.

the art is stunning, the narration moving and direct. I cried and cried.

charming; had me giggling. didn’t like the crisis, didn’t like the resolution. but had fun. 

love the Winnicott that Phillips offers. LOVE. want to read more of both.
