I think I wasn’t in the right headspace for this but may revisit it another time 

I always enjoy L.L. McKinney’s books, but I think I would have liked this much more in print instead of audio. The narrators weren’t bad, but didn’t sound the right age. 

This falls into a lot of the traps the early 2010s dark/bully romances did with slut shaming, girls as competition, unrealistic teenage characters, etc. The writing tells more than shows, unnecessarily repeats dialogue, and it makes it difficult to really sink into the story. However, the angst is top notch.
