This falls into a lot of the traps the early 2010s dark/bully romances did with slut shaming, girls as competition, unrealistic teenage characters, etc. The writing tells more than shows, unnecessarily repeats dialogue, and it makes it difficult to really sink into the story. However, the angst is top notch.
