I've decided I'm not much of a fan of Liane Moriarty's writing style. Her character building is slow for about half of the book. I do appreciate her plot twists and the emotions she has the reader sit with. However, I prefer a little something more in the writing. It doesn't take me to another place and it is hard to get through. I would have put it down if it weren't for book club.

Margaret Atwood is a phenomenal writer- I can’t wait to read more from her! And I am so excited to hear that there is a second Handmaids Tale coming. Not sure if it’s a prequel or sequel.

This book is definitely still worth reading if you’ve seen the show first- especially the last chapter, I had no idea the context of what I was reading and it’s a fun surprise in the end! I saw the Hulu show and loved it. They even took details from the book to keep Season 2 in line with Atwood’s world. I appreciate that.

I really liked this book and this classic noir writing, but I did not love the ending. Although foreshadowed, it felt sudden, and I didn’t feel like the reader was able to process what happened within the context of any aftermath, which would have rounded out the experience a bit more.

The description of this book says it all. Intimate, powerful, and inspiring. This woman’s strength is both common and super human. We know her and look up to her and we are her. Thank you for your service, Michelle. HIGHLY recommend hearing these intimate stories from the author herself in the audiobook. We can’t get much better access than that ❤️😍

If you like Grey’s Anatomy/Medical Dramas, you’ll like this book. I loved the writing and could connect with both main characters. I recommend this for a light, entertaining read with enough drama to keep you interested.
