Slow to start but packs a punch when you’re in there. Think a mishmash of Buffy and TVD. Fast, fun, clever, easy read. 

The middle just dragged on for so long I nearly DNFed it. I get why people love it but I don’t see myself reading it again. Might pick up the sequel. 

The YA style prose in what should undoubtedly be an adult grimdark fantasy held this one back.
