The first few chapters had me hooked but I’m no longer reaching for it to read more — back to the library she goes!

Just not for me!

Starting out my wacky summer reading strong here lads

Drop everything you are doing and read this book. Explosive, brutal, hopeful. The type of book you will never stop thinking about.

Kalynn Bayron stop making me cry with your books challenge

After going in with no expectations, wow, this is a book that will stick with me for a while. Newt’s character development, the brewing revolution and the claustrophobic writing make this a must read challenging YA.

I SEE WHY PEOPLE LOVE IT

Ok now that’s out of the way—for me, the dual timeline was wasteful and pulled me out of my enjoyment of the book, the twist at the end had 0 emotional impact and was lazy, and to be entirely petty the font for the print version is far too small.

Evelyn herself was interesting and really the only reason I finished it was how compelling I found her story. That, and my love for Harry.

Let’s stop killing Black men for shock factor though, yeah?

Twas ok but somehow felt too long, even for such a short book. Number theory stays my favourite tho
