cloyingly preachy, or, the uwu-ification of hotshot lawyers 

Everything I wanted in a cosy fantasy and a delightful realisation that this is what I wanted from all of the others I’ve read. 

Beautiful, moving, and somewhat haunting, this book does make you consider how you would spend the last days before the end of the world. 

This is, by no stretch of my imagination, perhaps my favourite book I have ever read. For something picked up for no reason other than “Huh, this won its fair share of awards,” I have been made to feel inadequate by its prose and embraced by the sheer intimacy of the writing. I truly cannot overstate it’s brilliance.

That was a surprising delight!

Maybe I do like poetry after all?
