I’m gonna be honest, I just cried a lot while reading this. So it’s getting the stars for the emotional response I had to it.
How did I not know this was going to be a major tragedy with a hot firefighter as the love interest? I’m a sucker for a firefighter romance, so I am not complaining! 😂 I was not prepared for the ups and downs of this book AT ALL. I loved it. I really needed something like this to get me out of my reading slump.

A fun read that kept me interested the whole time. Hades and Persephone retelling that has a modern feel. Still don’t really understand how the power structure works here, but maybe it’ll be revealed throughout the series.

I have some issues with the continuity in this book. Especially with the timeline not making sense. Some plot points can make me forgive it in some places, but not everywhere. Exciting story that kept the storyline going. I’m looking forward to the next book. Hope they don’t rush the next one like they clearly did with this one.
Took me a while to finish, but this was an audiobook, and I have been more in the mood for listening to music. 🤷🏼♀️ Cute story though!
This book took me over a year to read, if that gives you any indication. The writing was good, which is why the rating isn’t lower, but the story was very meh.
Very average historical romance book. I set it down and did not pick it back up for a very long time, but stepped right back in without really missing anything that I may have forgotten during that break.
Definitely a unique concept that I hadn't read yet in any of my historical romances, though. So props for that. I just think it was paced kind of slow for a majority of the book (I just wanted more to happen) and the ending and resolution was so fast that I didn't feel content when I finished reading.
