The MC was supposed to be sweet, naive, and optimistic, but to me he read weak, childish, and prone to making stupid decisions. The LI was too soft and insecure for what he was supposed to be. There was not plot whatsoever, and worldbuilding felt half cooked. I'm quite disappointed :(

Reread after finishing all cosmere novels written so far and it's still among my least favorite (try to be a cosmere fan while not liking Kelsier 🥲). At least I finally understood the references.

It was even better than the first one. Not a hint of fluff this time, just two broken characters trying to survive and finding each other in the process. I'm pleasantly surprised how the author handled past abuse; the one done to the characters, but especially the one they caused themselves. They had to deal with the consequences and they had to find a way to reinvent themselves to have better future. The epilogue was _chef's kiss_, the perfect balance between happy end and believability, anything more would be too much.

It was was fluffier than I expected when reading the synopsis (postapo, monsters...), and I was pleasantly suprised how invested I got in the worlbuilding.

It's a short story, it spans only one night, but the author builds the tension nicely. One of the lovers being invisible to the other made it quite tantalizing.
