slow-paced

Melodrama o skupině toxických lidí, kteří ničí sebe a všechny kolem, proložené občasným vtipem, který dává tušit, že autorka přesně věděla, jaké charaktery píše.

Reread after 9 years. The books is such a chore to get through, so slow and boring, but the ending is worth it.

informative

It's one of those books that are informative and I agree with the overall message (I even put some of the principles described in the book in use in the past), but they are so infuriating to read. I don't need every book to cater to every person (especially self help book), but seriously, couldn't the author at least acknowledge that he was speaking from a place of privilege? Just a hint of self awareness? A little bit? And maybe not show as a good example people like Jeff Bezos who may talk how they value getting enough sleep and then you read articles about working conditions at their companies... Or say shit like "it's better to be understaffed than hire the wrong person quickly". And who is going to do the work of the missing employee, dear author? Who? [insert the goose meme] And are they allowed to say no?

Cute, but somewhat bland and forgettable.

DID NOT FINISH: 10%

I hate it when medical professionals are condescending and judgemental about their patients. I am also not interested in reading about edge cases just for the shock value. I had to stop at 10% to see other reviewers say (I should have done that first). What a piece of garbage this book is, wow.
