challenging informative inspiring reflective slow-paced

A okovy měj nohy spoutané
a loudej se, když k tomu, co jsi ani
nezahlíd, máš říct ano, nebo ne.

Nejhloupější je ten, kdo bez váhání
se rozhodne a všecko předem ví,
a co schválil či popřel, nemá zdání.

K bludu se často slepě přikloní,
a když nemůže stát za svými slovy,
pocit, ne rozum, je pak na koni.

The best thing about the book for me was the setting, so vivid and intriguing, I'll have to go search for more books set in the Arctic. The romance wasn't bad, even if things happened too quickly for my liking, but that was to be expected from a book as short as this one.

From previous books, I thought Sim was an annoying asshole of a character which promised fun in this book. And it was, in a way, but unfortunately I found Darcy to be more intriguing character than either of the main couple (shame, in a romance book). I'm glad the author gave his plotline a justice, even though it bordered on absurd at times.

Plot-wise, it was much more interesting than the previous book. The characters were cute which was not something one would expect from a shifter romance (I'm not complaining, quite the opposite!).
medium-paced

I must admit, I almost DNF-ed this one. The first third was clunky, too much forced exposition, too much telling and not showing. I didn't care about the characters much (yet). But I hoped it would get better (it's the author of Monstrous Whims after all), and it did. The plot picked up, the characters showed their personalities (who would have thought the big bad wolf is such a softie), and I finally believed their chemistry. In the end, I quite enjoyed the ride.
