This is a manga adaptation of the light novel which inspired one of my favourite scifi films, Edge of Tomorrow. I knew going in that the story would be quite different to the movie, but I'm very happy to say that I really enjoyed it.
It's a very well written time loop story that does a good job of showing the toll that repeatedly getting killed takes on the main character. There are admittedly times when the story is rushed or a little bit hard to understand, perhaps lost in the translation from prose to manga, but it's still very gripping. The characters are compelling and there are some emotional moments.
The art style is generally decent, although the frequent action sequences are sometimes busy and difficult to interpret. The battles do get understandably gory at times.
At over 400 pages this is very chunky for a manga, and as a standalone it's not a huge time commitment and definitely value for money (it was more than double the reading time of other similarly priced manga).
Overall I really liked this and definitely recommend it.

I really quite enjoyed this. I often adore stories about bonded dragon riders and this is the first time I've come across it in manga form - the worldbuilding is interesting and while this first volume mostly revolved around the human characters I'm really looking forward to seeing more of the dragons in future.
The main characters are likeable and I suspect I'll enjoy the romance when we get to it (though a warning that there is an age gap here which might turn off some readers). Honestly though, I'm mostly here for the dragons.
