The New Gate definitely has many of the types of the typical Isekai story - the main character is stuck living in the world of a video game, he's vastly overpowered, there are quests to do and monsters to fight. Having tried a fair few of these types of stories at this point though, I would say this one is above the average. The worldbuilding is well thought out, the characters are likeable and I found it very entertaining.
I read this manga volume having first viewed the anime series, and on the basis of that I would say that the story and especially the character relationships improve quite a lot after the events of this first volume. I did have a good time with volume one but I'm hoping and expecting that the sequels will be earning four stars in my reviews rather than the high three.

I liked this. It has many of the standard Isekai tropes (which is no bad thing), but has a slightly different feel to most of the others I've read or watched. The main character is very likeable, and his relationship with the child on the cover is very wholesome and cute. The story didn't blow me away but it interested me enough that I definitely want to continue.
I enjoyed this. It's a fun story with a likeable main character and some intriguing worldbuilding. The story keeps to a lot of common manga tropes and won't blow anyone away, but I had a good time. Plus, there's a dragon, which is always a good thing.
A mild warning that it does end on a cliffhanger! It left me very annoyed that I don't have volume two available to go straight into.
