Really enjoyed this story, it held my interest throughout. I liked structure of the book (days of the week) and how it unravels the layers and connections between the two MCs. I felt like the ending was a bit abrupt and it seemed strange that it was presented as an epilogue. It still felt like we were in the main part of the story.
I absolutely adored this book! I had so many moments of joy and glee while reading it. The humanity and empathy and understanding and friendship shone through on every page—it buoyed my spirit, just what I needed in a time when the real world is so chaotic. The wit and banter between Muriel and Kit is hilarious and delicious. The secondary characters are well developed and add so much to the story.
I’m not a dark romance fan, but this book managed to charm me. If you’re squeamish, it’s likely not for you—but there was enough banter and romance and story to balance out the darker stuff for me. I almost bailed after the graphic descriptions in the first chapter, but I’m glad I stuck with it. Haven’t decided if I’m going to continue the series yet.
slow-paced
This was quite the slow burn. Overall I enjoyed it, but felt the pace was too slow at times and it could have been shorter. And because Aiden didn’t talk that much, I struggled with never being in his POV. Quite heavy on the past family trauma, check content warnings.
A lovely historical — I loved the banter and tension between Hugh and Lillias. The first half of the book was all yearning and I wasn’t mad about it! I loved how they saw each other so clearly.
I enjoyed the book, but liked the first one in the series better.
Enjoyed this story - more romantic fic than romance as the leads aren’t together for most of the book. I enjoyed how their relationship evolved and the focus on female friendship.

I really enjoyed this book! It was so refreshing to read about dating in a plus-size body. I also loved her tight-knit group of friends and how they called each other on their BS. Some books really overuse the misunderstanding trope, when in reality they would figure things out more quickly if they just talked it over with their friends! Also Uncle Jim is the worst.
