I liked the story, but I found the third act break up weak. There was also something that felt a bit boring/repetitive about it - but maybe that was more due to my mood while reading it. 

Well written and the concept was really interesting, but I couldn’t believe that

she would keep her condition a secret from so many people (i.e., everyone) for such a long time. Also the injustice of her past with her stepsister and family was so egregious, I felt like it could have been a bit more nuanced, especially with her dad (he seemed reasonable in the end, so it seemed unbelievable that he would completely side with her stepsister).

Overall I did enjoy it, but I struggled with Martha and her rationale for staying closed off for so long.
